All members of the provincial association are elected to their positions as Board of Directors or as part of the Executive Committee. In order to be elected to one of these positions you need to join a member team and complete First Aid / CPR Training and Basic Searcher I Training at a minimum.
Joining a member can be a rewarding experience. Teams train regularly, hold fundraising events and elect their own executive committees. Being a ground search and rescue volunteer also gives you the opportunity to be part of an important network of organizations that work to save lives.
Recently, the federal government has agreed to offer ground search and rescue volunteers who log 200 hours or more per year a $2000 tax rebate.
