New Brunswick Ground Search and Rescue Association Inc. takes pride and diligence in ensuring that each of its member teams complies with standards and by-laws that allows them to be as well-trained, prepared and efficient as possible to maintain public safety. Any teams who are not able or willing to meet the association’s by-laws and standards is deemed to be unfit to serve the public’s safety needs. Such a team will be removed from the association’s list of member teams unless it is able to remedy its operational issues.
While we stay up to date in ensuring that our member teams are as capable as possible, we also believe that prevention is an equally important component of public safety. That is why we strive to promote programs and resources that can help individuals to stay safe in the forest, on New Brunswick’s many waterways, and in unfamiliar areas.
Specifically, the Association and many of our member teams participate in promoting and presenting nationally accredited public safety programs for children and youth, including AdventureSmart AdventureSmart Website and Hug-a-Tree Hug-a-Tree Website. We invite you to lean more about these programs and encourage you to forward you requests for a presentation at your school or community centre to your local team.
